Weston Point from Runcorn hill ~1900
This view of Weston Point was taken around 1900. The "new" Salt Union factory which obtained salt from brine by the "open pan" process, can be seen on the right, together with all its chimneys. Near by is the steeple of Christ Church, standing on the bank of the River Mersey. The white "ribbon" of track seen to the left of centre and running towards the village later became the present "Sandy Lane". NOTICE the stooks of corn in the fields..Weston Point was still very agricultural at this time
This postcard has never been used, so nothing written on it,
