The baths, Runcorn

Runcorn baths

Runcorn Baths is still Runcorn Baths today ! It was built as the Runcorn market hall in 1856 and was turned into the town baths early in the 20th C. The bath pool could be covered over. Dances and amateur dramatic performances were held there as well as boxing and wrestling matches. It is now used solely as a swimming pool. All the other old buildings on this photo have now disappeared.(2015)
