"Weston Road, Runcorn, in 1928"

Weston Road

This view in Weston Road, in the direction of Weston, is again basically unchanged today. The "Runcorn Hill" had just recently been landscaped from the old quarries. The path down to the right still exists as a narrow road. The factory of the "Castner-Kellner Alkali Co." can be seen at Weston Point, although by this date it had become part of the newly-created Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), which itself as now become part of history!.

The message reads:-

I expect you have been very busy in the garden. The weather has been exceptionally fine here. I have had 2 or 3 very nice trips right out to the forest. We are going to Liverpool & New Brighton today. I am looking forward to seeing you soon.
